The Vetted Programs were created by request of the SELCO public library directors. This turnkey program provides the opportunity for a variety of artists, musicians, authors, and storytellers to share their performances.

Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

To have participants recognize the library is a place to experience quality programming.
Increase participants' knowledge of different arts and cultural heritage topics/programs.
Expose library patrons to arts, performances, events they may not otherwise have the opportunity to experience in their community.

Evaluations were done using surveys, focus groups, and/or interviews.

The answers varied between 4 and 5 that they strongly agreed that the program was a positive learning/entertaining experience.

The program scored between 4 and 5 for enhancing the knowledge and understanding of the topic.
4) More or less likely to think of library as a place to experience cultural or arts programming
All respondents replied that it was very likely that they would consider the library as a place to experience cultural or arts programming.

"Kids were very entertained and laughed the entire time!"
"The kids paid a lot of attention to it and listened well."

The kids really liked the chicken laying an egg, and then the egg hatching. They also were impressed by the pirate who came apart and changed to parrots. One child asked, "How did he do that?"

There were a few children who looked at the books on making puppets, and one checked one out.

Twenty-six of the respondents rated the quality of the program a 5 and 2 rated it a 4.

Twenty-six adults strongly agreed (5) that the program was a positive entertaining experience, one rated it a 4 and 1 rated it a 3.

Nineteen respondents strongly agreed (5) that this program enhanced their knowledge and understanding of puppetry/marionettes/magic. Eight adults rated this a 4 and 1 circled 3.
