Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

To have participants recognize the library is a place to experience quality programming.
Increase participants' knowledge of different arts and cultural heritage topics/programs.
Expose library patrons to arts, performances, events they may not otherwise have the opportunity to experience in their community.

Evaluations were done using surveys, focus groups, and/or interviews.

Measurable Outcome(s)

What do the kids want to learn more about now?
Many of the kids wanted to continue learning about owls and how to help them and several were excited to check out owl books from the library after the program.
They enjoyed having the program be a "game" of information instead of the whole program be a "presentation." Seeing the Ruby's different "expressions as she kept turning her head."
After the program was finished, the presenter had time to talk to two of my high school autism students who were so amazed at the owl program. A ninth grader who is one-half Cherokee explained that the owl is her "spiritual animal" and how connected she is with owls in her dreams and visions. The two girls were so excited to be next to this owl, it was so moving to see their enthusiasm to get to be a part of this day. The second autistic girl was just excited to keep asking questions and learning about owls and how they lived.
