Project Overview
The project will construct a rock ramp over the existing 7-foot high spillway to restore fish access to the upstream reaches of Whisky Creek, while maintaining flow to Blue Eagle Lake through the control structure in the adjacent dike. The ramp will consist of a series of rock arches, designed to create riffle pools for migrating fish to rest as they make their way upstream. Restoring fish passage will allow access from the Red River Basin to over 36 miles of high quality head water stream habitat and well over 13,000 acres of adjacent lands designated by state and federal agencies for wildlife habitat.
