Project Overview
The streambank site on the Chippewa River has experienced increased erosion following removal of the Montevideo Dam. Fisheries habitat is poor due to the eroded nature of the bank and this project will result in substantially improved instream habitat. A bankfull shelf will be constructed along 420 feet of streambank, which will provide stable bank habitat and reduce erosion. The shelf will be constructed from tree branches harvested as part of a city tree removal process, along with soil, rock and shrub plantings.
