Project Overview
Pine forests have been rapidly decreasing across the landscape in Crow Wing County. This project will enhance over 200 acres of white pine, jack pine, and oak habitat, and restore over 40 acres of jack pine habitat. Results will be increased and enhanced wildlife habitat for many species, all within the realm of "working conifer forest" which have declined over the last 100 years. Methods include clearing land by anchor chaining and brushing, aerial seeding, and protecting seedlings from deer browse.
