Project Overview
The area contains large tracts of protected land (Tallgrass Aspen Parklands) including over 200,000 acres of Wildlife Management Areas. Brush encroachment and invasive species threaten grasslands in the Tallgrass Aspen Parkland and area offices cannot reasonably manage all of the brush work, fire, and invasive treatments with current staffing levels. The work to be done under this project will mitigate threats to the grasslands through prescribed fire operations, invasive species treatments, and potential brush removal projects.
