Project Overview
We will be restoring brome dominated grasslands back to a diverse native dominated stand. Brome invasion is a threat to many MN grassland landscapes. Here we are converting this brome to a higher quality habitat to increase usability by wildlife. We are now demanding that our already permanently protected lands function at the highest level and to do so we must convert these old brome areas to a more productive and resilient high diversity native stand. In addition we will be removing woody vegetation on these sites. Invasive and encroaching woody vegetation has been shown to have negative affects on many grassland dependent song birds and waterfowl nesting success.
