Project Overview
The Proposed Tract 12 of the Maple River WMA contains 2,787 feet of frontage on the Maple River. The exisiting habitat on the property consists of 10.8 acres of lowland forest and 2.5 acres of cropland, Tract 12 is directly adjacent to the approved 113 acre tract 8 of the Maple River WMA. Tract 12 has its own unique easement access. Future habitat development of the cropland would consist of a sedge meadow / lowland brush-land restoration. Existing and future habitat will benefit wood ducks, deer, turkeys, woodcock, pheasants, raccoon and river otter. Future management and development would include timber stand improvement (TSI), and invasive species control.
