Stage Makeup and Characterization with Dylan Kaercher
In this one hour class participants learned how to build a character from start to finish, starting with character design the costumes, and finally how to give the characters personality traits.

The intended outcome of the program is to stimulate patron imagination, creativity and interest in different aspects of theater. It will also expose patrons to the behind the scenes opportunities for those who want a career in theater . A survey was distributed to receive feedback from those attending the programs.
Surveys were distributed to participants at all programs. 75% strongly agreed that this was an enjoyable experience and 70% strongly agreed that they would attend a similar event. Comments: "It was very exciting to see and hear the details involved in developing and performing." I'm glad that Legacy funds allow us to offer programs. How else could people interested in theater have access to this program in rural Minnesota." "There were several helpful pieces of information that can be used immediately by our theater group."
20 libraries provided space, staff, and additional promotion for the programs and approximately 12 regional newspapers provided marketing through press releases, photos and interviews with artists and performers.
