Drawing For Coloring-321 Art Studio
What comes to mind for you as you think of Up North Minnesota? Is it deer hunting or hockey, iron mining or fishing? Drawing for Coloring will focus on Minnesota scenes; natural and man-made. This program is suitable for all ages.
The first half of the session Will be guided drawing with the artist. She will create several scenes suitable to be used as coloring pages. The second half of the 90-minute session will focus on helping individuals design and draw a coloring book page that can be submitted to the Arrowhead Regional Library Coloring Book Contest.
Come for some fun and enjoyable drawing experience. All ages and levels of artistic experience are welcome.

The intended outcome of the arts program is to allow patrons the opportunity to create hands-on art projects and develop their skills as visual artists, such as creative problem solving, self-expression, small motor development, etc. A survey was distributed to receive feedback from those attending the programs.
Surveys were distributed to participants at all programs. 90% strongly agreed that this was an enjoyable experience and 85% strongly agreed that they would attend a similar event. Comments: "Gave excellent directions on how-to-do and on being involved in the Drawing Contest." "They were fun to listen to and good pointers on coloring." "very nice and adaptable for all audience members and group sizes."
20 libraries provided space, staff, and additional promotion for the programs and approximately 15 regional newspapers provided marketing through press releases, photos and interviews with artists and performers.
