Felting 2016-Duluth Art Institute
Three artists from Duluth Art Institute teamed up to bring the exciting Felting 2016 to local libraries. Add locally dyed and harvested fibers to a wool canvas for a truly distinctive painting. Experiment with colors, textures, and techniques unique to needle felting.

The intended outcome of the arts program is to allow patrons the opportunity to create hands-on art projects and develop their skills as visual artists, such as creative problem solving, self-expression, small motor development, etc. A survey was distributed to receive feedback from those attending the programs.
Surveys were distributed to participants at all programs. 90% strongly agreed that this was an enjoyable experience and 85% strongly agreed that they would attend a similar event. Comments: This was so informative and hands-on. Both me and my 10-year old son enjoyed felting. Please plan more. This was so fun for me and my grandchildren. This spanned all age groups and everyone succeeded.
22 libraries provided space, staff, and additional promotion for the programs and approximately 10 regional newspapers provided marketing through press releases, photos and interviews with artists and performers.
