Minnesota author and photographer, Laura Erickson, 2014 recipient of the American Birding Association’s prestigious Roger Tory Peterson Award presented a program called Minnesota Owls at the Sandstone Public Library on October 17, 2015 based on her book, Twelve Owls.

Those attending the programming will receive an overview of the 12 species of owls found in the upper Midwest (including Minnesota), providing a wealth of life history information as well as tips on how to see them.

Measurable Outcome(s)

80% of those in attendance were over the age of 55 and 98% thought it was an excellent program. Comments included:
1) Laura Erickson was amazing! The "12 Owls MN" was informative and educational. Please bring more of this to NE Pine County.
2) Thank you for it! Great topic pertinent to our area. I came to learn info and resources for teaching this topic to 4H youth.
