Participants will complete a survey following the program and attendance will recorded. Participants will learn about Congolese music through Siama (a musician from Congo) and various hands-on art programs (dreamcatchers, corn husk dolls and Ojibwe shoulder bags) through the Mille Lacs Indian Museum and Trading Post.
Survey comments from Siama's Congo Roots included: cultural-different than ours. Open my kids eyes to a different part of the world, culture and history of family life in the Congo, it gave me an opportunity to experience a different culture, creative presentation of culture through music. Excellent musicians. Surveys comments from Mille Lacs Indian Museum and Trading Post included: (the best part was) learning how to make a doll and learning about some facts about the Ojibwe, the culture my kids were able to learn about and creativity.
