Tim Johnson, Curator of Special Collections & Rare Books/E.W. McDiarmid Curator of the Sherlock Holmes Collections at the U of M gave a presentation on the library at Highclere Castle, or Downton Abbey as it's known to the fans of the PBS series at both the Pine City Public Library and Milaca Community Library.

Participants will complete a survey following the program and attendance will be recorded. Expected outcomes include: opportunity to have a professional librarian present a program about a unique, historic and specialized literary collection; learn about Highclere Castle and discover insights into life and culture of the English country estates in the Edwardian era and the treasures collected over generations that filled country house libraries.

Measurable Outcome(s)

Outcomes/comments from the survey regarding what participants enjoyed most about the program included: 'History of printing; preservation of old books.', ' All of it but especially the unbound book from Italy.' & 'Looking at a very old book'
