127 Comedian Scott Novotny
Minnesota born and raised comedian Scott Novotny gave a comedy sketch writing workshop at the McGregor Public Library followed by a public performance at the McGregor school auditorium during National Humor Month on April 29, 2017.
19 participated
Participants will complete a survey following the program and we will track attendance at the program. Desired outcomes include; participants will learn about the history of comedy to enrich our understanding of the nature and function of humor, including its social?and sometimes deeply anti-social?roles. Participants will complete exercises, write and rewrite on a regular basis, and give and receive constructive criticism on works-in-progress and see a professional comedian perform.
Program attendance was very disappointing for both the comedy workshop and the evening performance. Last minute venue issues became almost insurmountable. The workshop participants were all younger men which is an audience we seldom reach however, Comments included: Very entertaining and family friendly (clean); learned how to write a joke and different ways to 'deliver' a joke.
