Mora History Series
Those attending the program will learn about World War II through the eyes of a war correspondent; about the eventful day of December 7, 1941 and about the orphan trains and how each of these events affected those living in Minnesota.
Almost 80% of those in attendance at the three programs were age 55+ which signifies to ECRL that this particular age group enjoys historical programming. When asked to list ONE new thing you LEARNED, SKILL you acquired, KNOWLEDGE you gained or ATTITUDE that was changed from attending this program, answers included:
1) facts about Pearl Harbor I was unaware of
2)I learned about how the treaty of Versailles directly related to WWII and now am actually writing a paper for it for school
3) I didn't know the political relationship between WWI and WWII
4) Respect for veterans and what they have endured
5) The large volume of orphan numbers higher than I expected. Impressed that as many records were kept and available
6) Difference in way children were adopted
