A Day Out With Thomas
Thomas the Train invited little engineers to team up with him for a day of family fun at the Day Out With Thomas. This was a fun-filled event that provides children of all ages the opportunity to climb aboard and take a ride with Thomas. Families met Sir Topham Hatt and enjoyed a day of themed activities which included a musician, magician, face painting, and storytelling.

The intended outcome of the arts program is to allow patrons the opportunity to experience a wide variety of arts programs in different venues across the Arrowhead Region.
Surveys were distributed to participants at all programs. 45% of the patrons said they were not sure they could attend this event without the free tickets. 42 % said they could not attend this event without the free tickets and 13% said they could still attend. Comments: "I bring different children to these events when they are provided. These are children who are disabled and in poverty. The enrichment and experiences provided by the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund are an incredible blessing." "Thank you so much to all who help fund these events. It's greatly appreciated. My family would never be able to go and have fun without your help."
20 libraries provided free tickets to A Day Out With Thomas to their patrons and provided additional promotion for the programs and approximately 17 regional newspapers provided marketing through press releases, photos and interviews with artists and performers.
The organization sponsoring the event provided tickets at reduced prices to ALS.
