Additional requested information added 09/16/2021:
Prairie Public's ability to produce and distribute history and cultural heritage programs for Minnesota audiences has increased significantly as a result of The Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund (ACHF). Since anyone with a television and simple antenna will see these programs, one outcome expected is that underserved audiences get access to experiences they may not have otherwise been introduced to.
It is expected that the variety of history productions proposed in this grant will help to create a strengthened understanding and connection among members of these underserved audiences and diverse communities. This outcome will also help Prairie Public to develop new relationships with collaborators, educators, and audiences in these underserved communities.
Prairie Public's local magazine and community affairs programs feature historically and culturally significant events with an expected outcome of helping create a strengthened understanding and connection among audiences and members of diverse communities.
We do know that historical destinations featured on Prairie Public productions have reported that they have benefited financially from exposure on public television as they report increased attendance at their locations, and although we do not have access to that data, we expect that as an outcome for upcoming productions. All productions are easily accessible and archived online, so another expected outcome is usefulness to those organizations and destinations well beyond the broadcast.
Comments on social media indicate that people are often surprised and inspired by the productions that Prairie Public produces. The social media stats of likes and shares already reported are measurable indications that Prairie Public's productions impact and change lives.
