Arts and Culture Content
Twin Cities PBS Legacy funded arts & culture content will include, but is not limited to, multiple arts and cultural broadcast and digital series amplifying diverse voices of local artists, community stories, performances, and other content. This collection of new and continuing content will also include robust marketing and social media content, events, and screenings. In support of arts & culture educational outreach efforts, the TPT Learn team will produce educational resources, online media and content, discussion guides, activities and programming based on the Legacy produced arts & culture content. TPT will also collaborate with subject matter experts and community partners to craft culturally responsive initiatives aimed at enriching educators' instructional approaches. Activation will include virtual and in-person professional development workshops, screenings with expert panels, and other events that welcome all Minnesotans interested in using public media to teach, guide, learn and grow.
Twin Cities Public Television
$4,326,200 the first year and $4,326,200 the second year are to the Minnesota Public Television Association for production and acquisition grants according to Minnesota Statutes,?section 129D.18.
TPT's mission is to enrich lives and strengthen communities through the power of media, and our arts, culture, and history programming is critical towards achieving that goal.
The following are the projected outcomes for arts and culture programming and related activities:
Content viewers:
1. People who engage with TPT arts and culture content (docuseries and related marketing activities, educational resources, online media and content, discussion guides, activities and programming):
i. increase their knowledge and awareness of arts and culture in Minnesota and the topics covered.
ii. are more likely to discuss key learnings with others.
iii. increase their motivation to learn more about Minnesota arts and culture and the topics covered.
iv. feel more connected to Minnesota.
v. are more likely to become involved with local organizations in their communities.
Educators and parents:
2. Educators who participate in professional development activities use TPT content in their work and increase their skills in teach the topics addressed in the content.
Collaborators and community:
3. TPT develops new relationships with collaborators, educators, and audiences through its arts and culture content, with particular focus on BIPOC communities and younger audiences.
4. Collaborators (artists, historians, experts, educators, partners, community members) are satisfied with and benefit from their partnership with TPT.
Media tracking:
5. There is a 10% increase of teacher traffic to TPT's Legacy-funded arts education guides on PBS LearningMedia.
6. There is an increase in the number of TPT arts educator resources on PBS LearningMedia.
7. There is a 10% increase in traffic to TPTOriginals.org website.
During initial project phases, TPT's Director of Evaluation will work with project teams to refine the key outcomes for each project to inform evaluation planning.
