Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

The intended outcome of the musical program was for patrons to learn new songs and to hear musical instruments including guitar, keyboard, violin, mandolin, banjo, and ukulele. A survey was distributed to receive feedback from those attending the programs.

Measurable Outcome(s)

Surveys were distributed to participants at all programs. 99% of attendees found the program thought-provoking and enjoyable and 99% noted they would attend another similar Legacy event sponsored by the library. Here are some comments from patrons who attended the programs:
*"Zachary asked for song requests and even let three audience members come up and sing while he accompanied them. The three young girls asked him to play "Lost Boy," not even a Christmas song! It was a special moment for all of us in the room, but especially for those girls."
*"Well-versed, excellent artist! Thank you Legacy program! Thank you for including rural Minnesota!"
*"Liked that he sang familiar songs and gave a little history about the songs."
*"The music was exceptional in that it brought back beautiful memories and created new images with the song representing WWI truce for a night. Beautiful variety."
*"Liked the variety of songs, it was the first time I've heard a mandolin."

Source of Additional Funds

24 public libraries and community partners provided space, staff, and additional promotion for the programs and approximately 20 regional newspapers and other regional publications provided marketing through press releases, photos and interviews with artists and performers.
