Capital Furnishings with Natalie Heneghan
A historical discussion for adults. Over 1,600 pieces of furniture capture the legacy of the Minnesota Capitol Building, its occupants, and its design. Enjoy the stories of these objects found throughout Minnesota.
The intended outcome of the programs was to introduce patrons to new pieces and stories of Minnesota history. A survey was distributed to receive feedback from those attending the programs.
Surveys were distributed to participants at all programs. Here are some comments from patrons who attended the programs:
*"The material and speaker were very good and also interesting. It was nice to see photos of furniture both then and now and get the history of it."
*"Great information and very well presented."
*"Speaker was very engaging."
Five libraries provided space, staff, and additional promotion for the programs and three regional newspapers provided marketing through press releases, photos and interviews with artists and performers.
