Pioneer PolkaCast KSRQ HD-2
Programming of a 24/7 web stream and HD digital radio broadcast of Minnesota-made polka and old-time music. The project will include digitization and archiving of historical recordings. Voicetracked and live-hosted programs will be expanded through the use of remote broadcast equipment. PolkaCast will feature a live broadcast from the Minnesota State Fair in September. Android and iPhone apps will be developed to feature live and archived audio and video content.

$1,891,500 the first year and $1,891,500 the second year are to the Association of Minnesota Public Educational Radio Stations for production and acquisition grants in accordance with Minnesota Statutes, section 129D.19.
More Minnesota musicians will have their work showcased through public broadcasting

The project will result in an increase in locally and Minnesota-focused content produced and aired by public radio
