Partial Reroofing and Roof Repair
Statewide Historic and Cultural Grants. $5,250,000 the first year and $5,250,000 the second year are for history programs and projects operated or conducted by or through local, county, regional, or other historical or cultural organizations; or for activities to preserve significant historic and cultural resources.
Short term goal; watertight roof
Since the completion of the reroofing project the building is the driest it has ever been since the AAMC has owned it. Minor dripping still occurred through the fall, mostly near temporary roof drain installations. This spring there continues to be dripping especially by one roof drain. We believe this is due to ice and snow melt getting behind roof flashings. Overall the dripping is much less than previous years during the spring melt.
Long term goal; lifting of demo order
The AAMC continues discussions with the City of Duluth regarding the lifting of the demolition order. It is the AAMC's position that by addressing the 5 items listed on the demo order, the order can be lifted. The completion of this project addresses one of the listed deficiencies.
