Disaster Plan Development for Lac qui Parle County Museum
Statewide Historic and Cultural Grants. $5,250,000 the first year and $5,250,000 the second year are for history programs and projects operated or conducted by or through local, county, regional, or other historical or cultural organizations; or for activities to preserve significant historic and cultural resources.
The Lac qui Parle County Historical Society/Museum now has a Disaster Plan in place that includes institutional information, personnel and contact information; procedures to follow and personnel to notify when a problem or event is discovered; a quick-call list; designated personnel and procedures to assess damage and recommend priorities for recovery. A list of supplies and equipment and a list of vendors and outside experts who can provide supplies, equipment, services and specialized expertise to assist in the response and recovery will also be provided. As a non-profit member organization of MACC, we will also receive additional support in disaster preparedness with technical leaflets and 24/7 emergency response assistance. The Lac qui Parle County Historical Society/Museum now has a plan in place in case an unforeseen disaster accrues.
