"Marking Time: The Rituals of Life & Death" exhibit
This grant application is being submitted for funding for the implementation portion of the Scott County Historical Society’s upcoming exhibit “Marking Time: The Rituals of Life & Death”. Virtually every society in the world practice rituals marking the significant transitions between birth and death. Using artifacts, photographs, text, and hands-on interactives, this exhibit will examine those rituals within the historical context of Scott County (Christian and predominately Roman Catholic), new immigrants to the county (mainly Hispanic and Asian), and traditions we can easily find in the Twin Cities area (Judaism and secularism).
Statewide Historic and Cultural Grants. $5,250,000 the first year and $5,250,000 the second year are for history programs and projects operated or conducted by or through local, county, regional, or other historical or cultural organizations; or for activities to preserve significant historic and cultural resources.
