City of Gaylord's Historic Preservation Plan
Statewide Historic and Cultural Grants. $5,250,000 the first year and $5,250,000 the second year are for history programs and projects operated or conducted by or through local, county, regional, or other historical or cultural organizations; or for activities to preserve significant historic and cultural resources.
The goal of the Historic Preservation Plan was to excite residents, stakeholders, and elected officials in furthering preservation efforts by creating a working document to address how to work toward preserving the downtown. This was done through thorough coverage in the newspaper, city website, open houses, and city hall. A committee was formed to develop the Historic Preservation Plan based on input from the consultant, experts, and community open houses,. Copies of the reports have been brought to the library, school, city hall, and Sibley County Historic Society as well as given to elected officials and other stakeholders. .
