Project Overview

Moving Lives Minnesota: Stories of Origin & Immigration (MLMN) is a statewide initiative that explores the histories of the many communities who have moved through and to Minnesota. This project will include partnering with our other MPTA stations that include a $276,450 pass through to the other 5 MPTA stations.

$4,895,000 the first year and $4,025,000 the second year are to the Minnesota Public Television Association for production and acquisition grants according to Minnesota Statutes, section 129D.18. Of this amount, $950,000 the first yearis for a grant to the Twin Cities Public Television to produce Minnesota Journeys: Capturing, Sharing, and Understanding our Immigration History.

Moving Lives Minnesota is designed to deepen understanding of our state's origins and immigration history, increase empathy by learning about each other's heritage, backgrounds and experiences, and strengthen connections between communities throughout Minnesota. We will connect our content to educators and others and reach audiences statewide through broadcast and digital services.
