Cooking in Culture
We are working with communities to identify how their food and recipes were brought to Northeastern Minnesota from their country of origin. We will talk about availability of food versus the regions from which they came and talk about how these recipes live today as part of their heritage.
$4,895,000 the first year and $4,025,000 the second year are to the Minnesota Public Television Association for production and acquisition grants according to Minnesota Statutes, section 129D.18. Of this amount, $950,000 the first year is for a grant to Twin Cities Public Television to produce Minnesota Journeys: Capturing, Sharing, and Understanding Our Immigration History.
Cooks will raise awareness of local ethic dishes and where they originated from and how they where brought to Minnesota.
