Order Up! Drive-in to the Past' will be a 60 minute program documenting the unique history of local drive-in restaurants and their impact on tourism in several communities within our region.
Viewer feedback and survey results have shown an interest in exploring more local community history. This production is part of our continued effort to uncover unique stories of local history.

Summer vacations always include food. If you are driving, it usually involves stopping along the way to feed the car load. And the quicker and more convenient that you can get it, the better.
Not so many years ago travelers could stop off somewhere and have those fries and malts brought right out to them...you never had to get out of the car! These were drive-in restaurants!
Grab your extra change and drive into the history of the drive-ins that served travelers coming through northern Minnesota communities like Brainerd and Bemidji. And visit those places like Roseau and Fergus Falls, where the grills are still hot today!
Viewers will report increase interest, understanding, and knowledge of north central Minnesota's unique tourism culture and history, particularly in the communities featured within the documentary.
