Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

We distributed evaluation forms after each program. We hoped patrons would have a new understanding and/or appreciation for Brazilian culture and music, and learn something new about both. We also hoped patrons would leave with a stronger association of the library as a place to experience arts and cultural programming.

Measurable Outcome(s)

79% of respondents said they agreed or strongly agree that this program brought their community a new cultural or artistic experience. 60% agreed or strongly agreed they learned something new about the arts, history or culture. 85% said after this program, they are very likely to think of the library as a place to experience arts or cultural programming. Public comments included, "It was good to see a culture that we don't experience. We don't get enough of that where we live," and, "I liked the songs and the cultural history," and, "The different style of music and the different language was so fun to bring to our small school!"

Source of Additional Funds

The Friends of the Library in Greenbush provided assistance setting up and cleaning up the event. They also provided refreshments.
