Jen Anfinson: Walking Workshops
Artist Jen Anfinson created take-home art kits, or "Walking Workshops" that patrons could pick up at the library and complete in their own homes during the pandemic. One taught the basic knots of macrame and the other taught you how to create a leather bracelet.

We distributed evaluation forms after each program with a Google link. We hoped that patrons would have a new understanding and/or appreciation for whichever art project they chose, and maybe learn something new about either. We also hoped that patrons would leave with a stronger association of the library as a place to experience arts and cultural programming, especially during the pandemic when people were stressed and stuck at home.
100% of respondents said they agree or strongly agree that this program brought their community a new cultural or artistic experience. 100% agreed or strongly agreed they learned something new about the arts, history or culture. 100% said after this program, they are likely or very likely to think of the library as a place to experience arts or cultural programming. Public comments included, "Thank you for having these experiences and packages for our community to enjoy and learn from!! THANK YOU!!" and "I thought this program was very exciting and it was fun to learn something new," and "The kit was fun to do as a family."
