Project Overview

6 art classes for youth exploring different art forms and mediums.
June 7th Exploring Art through Sculpture - Come create your own clay dish sculpture. We will talk about how Sculptors used ordinary objects as their models for creating their sculptures.
June 14th Exploring Art through Different Paint Mediums - Come in and paint your own tree painting and your clay dish from the previous week if you wish. We will talk about different types of paint and how each one gives you a different effect.
June 21st Exploring Art through Mosaic Creations - During our time this week we will work on designing our own mosaic using drinking straws and cut up paper. We will talk about how mosaics can be made using many different materials.
June 28th Exploring the Art of Chalk Pastels - Today we will blend chalk pastels to create a fun 4th of July design. We will talk about how chalk pastels differ from other types of pastels.
July 12th Exploring the Art of Marbling - Come in and learn how to make fun cards with shaving cream and food coloring.
July 19th Exploring Art through Nature - In this session we will look at how we can use objects from nature to create art. We will use twigs and twine to create a rustic photo frame and use a pine cone to make a bird feeder to decorate our backyards.

Measurable Outcome(s)

Six programs were held, attendees were able to try several different forms of art including sculpture, paint, mosaic, chalk, using nature to create art. Attendees rated the programs highly and were able to participate in each session.
