Project Overview

Awesome Arts! A two hour art-making program for children and their caregivers which will tour the Traverse des Sioux Library System and be led by artist/instructors from Southern Minnesota. The program features different art activities focusing on a specific element of art designed to encourage artistic expression and develop critical thinking skills.

  • Awesome Arts! will enrich the lives of families by forming and deepening a life-long connection to the arts and artistic expression, by showing parents easy ways to engage their children in arts/artistic expression, by increasing artistic vocabulary, and by creating a space for families to gather and engage together in creative expression. 
  • The program will also develop the following skills:  problem solving, fine motor, visual perception, hand-eye coordination, tactile impressions, social and emotional.
