Camp Read-A-Lot
To provide participants with reading materials and resources to enhance the reading skills of children. To expose partipants to the artistic and writings of well-known authors. To provide an opportunity for participants to further their educational needs by providing CE credits. To provide participants the venue for curriculum-based book discussions to enhance the reading experience of children.
67 people participated in Camp Read-A-Lot. Educators were exposed to newer published books and shared discussions on how the resources could be incorported into the classroom. Kevin Stauss, storyteller shared stories and introduded participants to the art of storytelling to enhance the classroom experience. David LaRochelle, noted author, shared his writing style and publishing experience with attendees encouraging others develope their own creative writing skills. CE credits were awarded. 99% of those attending reported that Camp Read-A-Lot met or exceeded their expectations
