"Working The Land" Exhibit By Jon Solinger
Working Land photo exhibit was offered at the Moorhead Library April 3rd through May 6th with Artist Talk and Exhibit Opening April 3rd at 7:00pm. From Artist's explanation of exhibit, Seeing beautifully considered images of a farmer in work clothes or against a fertile landscape or a portrait of a machine elevates the idea of the everyday rural work place. It will help viewers to see art as more than luxury, collectible or decoration but rather as an honest and heartfelt expression of who we are, how we work and where we work. The Working Land travelling exhibit will reveal connections between the people, animals, machines and the landscape that anyone can feel, whether or not they work on the land.

The audience will be encouraged to see local rural life and culture as worthy of artistic expression. Exhibit will reach out to an audience that may not seek out visual arts experiences otherwise. Attendees to the artist talk will get a chance to hear from the artist himself about his work and ask questions instead of just reading about an exhibit in print material.
Attendees enjoyed being able to experience photography, bringing meaning to the land and being able to learn about inspiration of the photographer.
