Artist and cookbook author, Sherbanoo Aziz presented 'Indian Cuisine in Minnesota' a program about Indian culture and cooking in our state. Sherbanoo demonstrated her Indian recipes while talking about how Indian culture has become more mainstream in Minnesota with the rising popularity of Indian restaurants and markets since she first arrived in the 70?s. Attendees experienced this cuisine and went home equipped to find and cook the ingredients in her recipes. The program took place at 7 locations in the LARL region from June 14 to June 28, 2016.

Attendees will learn about Indian culture in Minnesota and the changes the presenter has seen the last few decades.
Those in attendance will learn about the spices and special preparation methods used in Indian cuisine.

Measurable Outcome(s)

Surveys were collected from attendees. The program was rated extremely high. Attendees enjoyed learning about Indian culture, learning about different spices they hadn't used before, and watching food being prepared as well as being able to try the food.
