The TRUTH Project
The Towards Recognition and University-Tribal Healing TRUTH project is a Native-organized, Native-led, community-driven research movement that offers multiple recommendations on how the University of Minnesota community can be in better relation with Indigenous peoples. This is a historic and cultural project because it was Native-lead, explores the history of the University of Minnesota, and is the first of its kind in the nation. While the report is more than 500 pages, it is split into segments. With presentations from all 11 reservations and reports from six. It also digs into the history of the University of Minnesota and Native peoples and land. This program would walk through key parts of the report from the perspective of those who conducted the research. Ampers will produce eight to eleven (8 - 11) shows that are between twenty and sixty (20 - 60) minutes long.
The project will result in more Minnesota and locally-focused content created by public radio.
The project will give Minnesotans a better understanding of the state's history, especially the state's Native American history.
