Project Overview
A hands-on pottery workshop geared for adults and older teens, this event provided the opportunity to learn about pottery as an art form its history and philosophy as well as a number of techniques. Participants created one or more piece of hand-built pottery which were then fired in the artists home kiln and returned to the new artists.

Provide an opportunity for members of the community to explore the arts, experiment in creating art and express their creativity.

Measurable Outcome(s)

Through written surveys and recorded comment, proposed outcomes were more than met. Many families of the participants (limited to 20, 5 extra came) came and spend the day at the library. Going in and out of the room to watch the pots being created. Participants indicated that they really benefited from the history and technique lecture. There was a waiting list of people, but no on dropped out.
