Project Overview
As part of LARL's statewide initiative participation, costumed History Players brought Minnesota’s past to life in the traveling History Player program. A staff member from the Minnesota Historical Society led a lively 45-minute presentation. Costumed characters from Minnesota’s past share memorable stories with props, artifacts and multimedia elements for added drama. 9 presentations on Harriet Bishop, St. Paul's first public school teach took place from February 26 to 28, 2013. 9 presentations on Toni Stone, first woman to play professional baseball with the Negro Leagues took place from March 5 to March 7, 2013. 8 presentations on Virginia Mae Hope, a World War II Women Airforce service pilot took place from March 12 to 14, 2013. Presentations took place at the Ada Library, Bagley Library, Barnesville Library, Breckenridge Library, Climax School, Crookston Library, Fertile Library, Hawley Library, Mahnomen High School, McIntosh Library, Moorhead Library, Ellen Hopkins School in Moorhead, Cormorant LINK Site, Gonvick LINK Site, Frazee School, Hendrum LINK Site, Norman County West Elementary School, Lake Park-Audubon Schools, Rothsay LINK Site, Twin Valley Living Center, Ulen-Hitterdal Elementary.
