Understanding interconnected social justice histories is foundational to build solidarity with Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) communities to address systemic inequalities. LinkingLeaders Partnership will integrate solidarity practices by creating and integrating resources, tools, and modules for teaching BIPOC histories in our programs. Resources will be shared as models for practicing solidarity to be used and adapted by others doing solidarity and racial justice equity work.
The Afton Historical Society (AHS) staff performed a wall-to-wall baseline inventory of 10,020 items, counting and locating each item. This number includes all components of 6206 line items documented on the inventory forms. Items inventoried include materials from the permanent collections, historical property that originated with the building, and consumable items/materials used in programming (PUMs) or for education.
To complete a full catalog of artifacts in the Afton History Museum under the direction of a qualified museum registrar in order to provide full access to the public.
To begin the inventory of the only statewide collection documenting Minnesota military history under the direction of a qualified museum objects curator.
The AHS hired part-time, temporary staff to input data into their PastPerfect collections management system. This was Phase II of a cataloging project and the data had been gathered during Phase I of the project. AHS exceeded their goal by cataloging more than the estimated 1393 objects.
The Ramsey-Washington Metro Watershed District (District) has determined that large impervious sites (like churches, commercial sites, and schools) are more economical for stormwater management retrofit projects than distributed small projects along roadways. The District began assessing church sites for retrofit opportunities in 2013 and will continue this effort in 2014. Church congregations have been receptive to partnering with the watershed district.
