Northwest Regional Library sponsored and implemented Digitizing Your Family Story Workshop through a series of programs; Workshop #1 taught patrons how to scan historical family photographs and documents. Workshop #2 taught patrons how to restore these images using electronic software to adjust color, correct exposure and repair some damage.

Measurable Outcome(s)
  • When asked if they learned to restore photographs, attendees answered as follows:

                                37%  Strongly agreed; 50% agreed and 13% were neutral

  • When asked if they would return to the library to restore images on their own, they answered:

                41% strongly agreed; 37% agreed and 22% were neutral.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 Many wrote that they wished the workshops were longer or another workshop would be planned for practicing what they learned.
