MPR News: The Changing Face of Minnesota: Told through Arts and Culture
MPR News will undertake a systematic, sustained effort to intentionally expand our broadcast arts and culture coverage in areas of Minnesota beyond the Twin Cities as well adding digital content. Art Hounds will continue to spotlight events statewide. A social media coordinator will be added for the increased digital content.
$1,700,000 the first year and $1,775,000 the second year are for Minnesota Public Radio to create programming and expand news service on Minnesota's cultural heritage and history.
Broadcast: Set a baseline for expanded coverage by measuring segments produced, number of artists featured and by type of arts/culture. Digital: Set a baseline for expanded coverage by tracking page views, downloads, social media followers, streams and engagement. Art Hounds: Continue to track artists and communities represented with at least 33% being from Greater Minnesota. Survey artists and our readers/listeners alike about the impact of the series and future engagement, attendance and feedback they heard and continue to gather. Host listening sessions in person and gather feedback and when appropriate write/air follow up stories Update: These plans continue to be hold due to social distancing
