Project Overview

This is a 80 acre tract adjacent to Center Creek WMA. The property is composed of approximately 50% RIM land and 50% crop land. The RIM portion contains prairie wet meadow. The crop ground contains several small restorable basins, some associated directly with existing wetlands on the WMA. The current landowner is willing to donate the RIM easement with purchase of the entire property. The landowner is also considering selling the crop land separately, at which time the RIM easement would become an in-holding. The surrounding area now contains significant permanently protected habitat (~430 contiguous acres), both public and private and is developing into a large prairie-wetland complex. Acquisition of this property would allow additional wetland restorations on both public and private lands and development of a larger habitat core.
