Luce Line State Trail Bridge #10, is a 65 foot long, timber, former railroad bridge that carries the Luce Line State Trail over a McLeod County Ditch near the community of Silver Lake. This bridge has been subject to inspection and it has been determined to not be a candidate for rehabilitation and has been recommended for replacement. The former railroad bridge is to be replaced with a single span, steel truss bridge with a twelve foot wide, concrete trail Surface. The installation of the steel truss replacement for Luce Line Bridge #10 is to be complete by 1 November 2011.
Replacement of the former railroad bridge which carried the Luce Line State Trail over Mcleod County Ditch east of the community of Silver Lake. The former wood pile railroad bridge is approximately 100 years old hand has been inspected and recommended for replacement given the extent and scope of structural deterioration.
The demolition of the existing 65 foot long timber bridge was completed during August 2011 and the installation of the replacement 90 foot long single span steel truss trail bridge (Luce Line Bridge #9) is to be complete and open for use by 1 November 2011.
