Project Overview

Storyteller Danielle Daniel partnered with two ECRL branch libraries (Cambridge Public and Princeton Area Libraries) and presented two workshops for children and adults teaching attendees the art of storytelling. Members from the speech teams from two local high schools were also invited to take part in the workshops. The event culminated with a storytelling performance using participants from the workshops for students at the Princeton Elementary School. Storyteller, Danielle Daniel also presented a solo storyteller performance.

Danielle Daniel also presented a storytelling performance at the 4H Regional Summer Camp at St. Croix State Park near Hinckley, MN for campers and their families.

• Partner Organization(s) Contribution/Role in the Program: Princeton Public Schools provided the venue for the storytelling performance by workshop attendees and the performance by professional storyteller, Danielle Daniel. The St. Croix State Park and the Pine County 4H program provided the venue for the storytelling performance and assisted in coordinating the program.

Program Outputs:
A total of 977 children and adults attended the programs at the school performing arts center and local libraries.

Measurable Outcomes may be collected by survey, anecdotal responses, pre-test/post-test, observations; Describe proposed end user change in Behavior, Attitude, Skills, Knowledge, Condition and/or Status.Attendees will learn about the art of storytelling, its techniques and nuances and find their own voice, vision and style. Attendees will be exposed to a performance by a professional storyteller.
