Glass Mosaic with Jo McFarlin
Jo McFarlin provided a small workshop for 20 patrons in Red Lake Falls. She guided participants through the process of creating their own glass mosaics. This program was planned for adults and teens, to give them a chance to learn from the artist about glass mosaics, and to provide them with a unique and handmade piece to take home.
20 participated
We distributed evaluation forms to all participants following the program, to gauge what they learned, why they attended, and to collect public comments. We hoped that patrons would leave having been exposed to a new art form, and that they would learn more about glass art. We hoped that in addition to learning a new skill and expressing creativity in a new way, that their interest in glass art would also increase.
92% of participants agreed that after participating in this program, they had tried a new art form, and that they had increased their knowledge and understanding of glass art. 69% of participants said that they learned a new skill after attending; 54% said that they increased their knowledge, and better understand glass art. 92% said that after the program their interest in painted glass had increased. Public comments included, "had a great time learning a new art!" and "the instructor is awesome, thank you!"
