This project is for the implementation of Best Management Practices (BMPs) that are effective at abating nonpoint source sediment runoff and E. coli to impaired waterbodies within the Plum Creek Watershed. BMPs will include on farm practices such as no-till farming and cover crops as well as structural practices within the watershed which includes 24 Water and Sediment Control Basins (WASCOB), 8 grade stabilization structures, and 2 miles of streambank stabilization monitoring. Implementation practices in this plan will work toward achieving water quality standards for both TSS and E.

Face to Face is a pilot project of a podcast program at day shelters for youth experiencing homelessness, Safe Zone. The podcast programming will equip youth at Face to Face with the knowledge and skills to create, record, and edit professional-quality podcasts. Youth will select podcast topics and will act as their own storytellers. The resulting creation will be shared on public platforms, allowing for an equitable distribution of youth voice.
To meet our community's call for creative, humanities-based programming for younger students, 826 MSP will offer Identity Exploration through Poetry Field Tripsfor primarily-BIPOC Twin Cities youth in grades 1-2. Students will work with mentor texts from BIPOC poets, write their own pieces, and leave as published poets. Each student will receive a bound anthology including all the poetry from their class and with prompts for extended writing and discussion in the classroom and at home.
To enhance arts and cultural heritage programming at the Polk County Fair by improving fairgoers ability to hear performances. The fair will purchase a sound system that will be used for performances and demonstrations on Paul Bunyan, dogsledding, and polka.

Consistent with the implementation recommendation of the Total Maximum Daily Load Study , the goal of this project is to install 30 grade stabilization structures along Polk County Ditch 80 to reduce sediment loading by 270 tons per year. Polk County Ditch 80 contributes a large amount of sediment to the Sand Hill River which currently does not meet state water quality standards for sediment.
Pollinators play a key role in ecosystem function and in agriculture, including thousands of native plants and more than one hundred U.S. crops that either need or benefit from pollinators. However, pollinators are in dramatic decline in Minnesota and throughout the country. The causes of the decline are not completely understood, but identified factors include loss of nesting sites, fewer flowers, increased disease, and increased pesticide use. Developing an aware, informed citizenry that understands this issue is one key to finding and implementing solutions to counteract these factors.
The Pollinator Ambassadors for Urban Gardens project will enhance outreach capacity for pollinator education by creating an outreach toolkit and training educators and youth for engagement in native pollinator education.
