The project will provide the opportunity for low-income children and youth to participate in the theatrical arts by viewing Seussical the Musical at the Children’s Theatre Company.
The project is designed to introduce emotionally disturbed youth to a new form of communication via the art form of dance with Zenon Dance Company, and help them experience trust as part of a team to prepare them for successful re-entry into the school from which they were removed.
Tickets to Minnesota seniors and their guests to attend performances by Circus Juventas as well as two tours and six off-site mini-performances, transportation to all nine events, and outreach to multi-ethnic seniors.
Multiple theatrical and dance performances for young men in the Gang Reduction and Intervention program as well as kids from the youth center will attend performances: Four Little Girls of Birmingham (SteppingStone) m, Barrio Grrrrl (CTC) , STOMP (Ordway), and the Political Theater Festival with Teatro del Pueblo (location tba).
WISE summer arts will provide underserved immigrant/refugee teen girls with the tools and opportunity to learn about visual arts, create physical expressions of their ideas on culture and identity, and introduce their art to the community in a bold and diverse formal exhibition.
Inner Voice, Inner Strength is a free event on October 15, 2010, organized by the Epilepsy Foundation of Minnesota and Patrick’s Cabaret which celebrates the many talents and creativity of people with epilepsy. Funds will support transportation and supplies.

Weathering, a new play in-progress written by Harrison David Rivers and directed by Talvin Wilks, explores the histories and health outcomes for mothers of color in America. To generate authentic voice and representation, Penumbra’s developing deep engagement opportunities with Rivers and Minnesota’s healthcare professionals/caregivers with help from black doula/midwife circles, and from this commission’s two official sponsors, Regions Hospital and Healthpartners.
The Perpich Arts Integration Network of Teachers (PAINT) fosters collaborative arts integration in Minnesota through K-12 teacher professional development and funding to schools. With Perpich Center facilitation, teacher teams develop and implement arts-integrated lessons and units. PAINT program components include:
Elders and youths will engage with each other to instill a sense of value and validation of one another’s skills and abilities. Participants will strengthen their proficiency in the Hmong language and Hmong alphabet through these lessons. Youths will learn basic conversational Hmong words and they will be introduced to the Hmong alphabet. The youths will learn the skills of storytelling, singing traditional songs, and making and creating their own paj ntaub.
Ramsey County and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers propose to enhance and restore habitat in Pigs Eye Lake by building islands and marsh to benefit migratory birds, waterfowl, and fish. Island construction would restore wetland habitat and functions that have been lost in the 640-acre backwater due to erosion and degradation and enhance the surrounding area by reducing turbidity, preventing further erosion, and increasing habitat diversity. The project would protect areas of biodiversity significance and improve the Mississippi River wildlife corridor in the heart of the St.
This project will complete a Watershed Restoration and Protection (WRAP) Plan that includes a set of pollutant reduction and watershed management strategies to achieve water quality standards for the listed pollutants, and that are understood and adoptable by local units of government and other stakeholders. This project will also provide an important water quality framework for civic and citizen engagement and communication, which will contribute to long-term public participation in surface water protection and restoration activities throughout the watershed.

This project will advance the prairie protection, restoration and enhancement goals established in the 2018 revision of the MN Prairie Conservation Plan. It builds upon the successful model established in Phases 1 - 8 and seeks to protect 500 acres in fee without PILT obligations to be held by The Nature Conservancy, enhance 14,000 acres of permanently protected grasslands, and restore 100 acres of prairie and wetland habitat.
This program will acquire 1,100 acres of state wildlife management areas (WMA) or federal waterfowl production areas (WPA) to enhance grassland and prairie habitat and provide public recreation opportunities for the citizens of Minnesota. In addition, PF restore an additional 1,500 acres of grassland habitat on permanently protected lands (WPA's or WMA's).
