The Council on Asian-Pacific Minnesotans and the Humanities Center’s “Arts & Cultural Legacy” program will educate, highlight, and promote understanding of the arts and cultural heritage of Asian American and Pacific Islanders for all Minnesotans. The Program consists of 3 elements 1) capacity building via the Artists Fellowship Program and the Asian Pacific Youth Council; 2) print and media via the creation of books for young readers; and 3) arts programming.
To enhance arts and cultural heritage programming at the East Otter Tail County Fair by hosting a fiddle contest, a barbershop quartet, and by purchasing a sound system to help performers engage a larger audience.
To promote the preservation of agricultural history, education and diversity at the Ramsey County Fair by showcasing traditional Hmong dances, square dancers, a fife and drum corp, and Agricadabra, a show which featurs agricultural facts and magic.
