Exhibit and Curator Talks: Earth Views form Orbit: Photos by Karen Nyberg
The photography exhibit Earth Views form Orbit: Photos by Karen Nyberg traveled to nine venues in the region, on display at each location for 4 weeks and including a curator talk. Astronaut and Vining native Nyberg took the photos during her second mission on the International Space Station in 2013. From the dozens of photos that Nyberg took and posted on her Facebook page, local photographer Dan Broten selected over 20 images to mount on large, accessible canvasses. The exhibit was on loan from the Henning Landmark Center. In curator talks, Broten played video interviews with Nyberg, described the equipment she used and logistics necessary to take the photos, and discussed his role in creating the exhibit, from photo selection to the production process.
